Amateur Shootout


Where is the Race Course?

The Amateur Shootout is held in downtown Charlotte on an exciting Center City mile course on which the professional men and women race for the Charlotte Criterium. The race starts at 5:00 pm, immediately prior to the start of the Professional Women's Race. The race is 30 minutes and has a total prize package of $2,000.00, plus lap premes.

How Can I Register?

Online Registration at No qualifying. Amateur Shootout is open to Cat 2 & 3 riders 16 years of age and older. Filed limit is 125.

The entry fee is $30. Race numbers for the Amateur Shootout will be given out at registration at the Charlotte Criterium. Make sure you register for the Amateur Shootout online.

Where Do I Sign In?

All riders in the Amateur Shootout must sign in at the Registration Tent in the Bank of America Plaza, 101 S. Tryon Street from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Please be aware that number pickup will close promptly at 4:30 pm.

What is the Race Start Time?

Race start is 5:00 pm. Please report to the Start/finish line at least 10 minutes prior to your race start.

What are the Prizes?

There is a $2,000.00 total prize package for the Amateur Shootout paying 15 places, plus lap premes. All places will be paid out behind the Start/Finish stage after the start of the Men’s Professional Race. Please bring your photo ID, Racing license, or Race Number to pick up your prize money.
